Our 2nd ‘Into the Light’ Group has ended!

Release Counselling Update

Our second 10-week ‘Into the Light’ course for survivors of sexual abuse has ended in Brighton.  It has been a fantastic group, and thank you to each of the women who took part.

Here is some feedback from the group members:

“Participating in the group has had a huge impact on my recovery- it has propelled me forwards. The structure and content of the course has enabled me to focus and look at present day difficulties that stem from the abuse in a way I could not have done on my own…I am deeply grateful for both my experience and understanding gained from attending the course…”

“This was an extraordinarily rich and powerful course for me.  It was a unique experience to meet with other women survivors and to have such a great sense of connection and understanding… “

“ I have learnt so much about myself and why I do certain things, and that I am not alone.  I am a survivor not a victim and have my place in this world and can hold my head up.  Thank you for the opportunity to grow. “

“ For anyone considering this course, I could not recommend it enough, even if you have other counselling or have tried other therapies, as there is something very special about how this course works. The only way I can describe how it has helped me, is that I feel like it has given me the combination code to unlock the mess inside that I have been unable to understand. Thanks.”

100% of participants said that the course fulfilled their expectations, and they benefitted from the group.

100% of the group felt a bit more hopeful, or much more hopeful about their life at the end of the course.

100% of the group also stated an improvement in self-esteem and confidence by the end of the group.

The group of women have now formed another peer support group. The next Into the Light group in Brighton aims to run in Spring 2015.
